I'm one of the volunteer photographers for Les Grands Feux du Casino du Lac Leamy so I thought I'd share a few photos. The team from Spain was on-stage last Saturday. Note the low break on the left side:

Hey Gordon. What settings do you put your camera too? ISO 100? F? How long are you keeping your lens open for?

Typically, ISO 100, f/9'ish and anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds, usually around 5s. The first photo I posted was 11 seconds.

Is 20mm considered a wide angle lens?

I call my 10-20mm lens a wide angle zoom. A couple of years ago when the show was still at Lac Leamy., as opposed to the Ottawa River where it moved to last year, I noticed they started using more of the sky and my other lens wasn't cutting it anymore. The lens I used gives my a fairly wide field of view, particularly when set to 10mm, so everything (almost) fits. There were a couple of really big shells that extended beyond the top of the frame in Saturday's show.

I haven't had a chance to post a larger selection of picks to my blog (http://gordon.dewis.ca) but if you click on the "Fireworks" category in the left hand column you'll find photos from past years.
