I was wondering if anyone has had experience using the Launch Kontrol Pulse Wired Firing System. I've used the Launch Kontrol Pro Remote Firing System 3 separate times and found it to be inconsistent. I believe the problem was caused by the cold so I thought a wired system would work better here. Has anyone used this system?

I owned the first system in Canada (or at least that's what they told me) and loved it at the time. I've moved onto a Cobra but it's a great little system depending on the type of show you wanna shoot. Here's my YouTube video of the system. youtu.be/_7iA8n-OnHwAnd here's one of the shows I shot using the system. youtu.be/5OpiL6hs9JI

Markhampryo, thanks for that info! My displays are still relatively small compared to many of those set off by other members on this site, so I'm thinking this may be exactly what I need. Thanks again!

Could you not use their clips and tie a e-match to it? Electrically the e match should fire if its getting the volts / amps. The clips are just heating a little wire and lighting the fuse, you'll still have the delay from the burning fuse.
I haven't played with the e-match yet so I'm not sure what the limitation are, I think that I may have 6 or so around I'll have to try different things with.

I looked at the system a bit back before i went cobra. My goals were bigger so Cobra made sense, but the kontrol system I just remember thinking "man those refills seem expensive"
No actual experience with the system, but if you're a little bit handy, building your own small system is probably a great way to go.

Im thinking about getting this system as well as I can’t justify buying a more expensive system for my annual Halloween shoot. Anyone have any recent experience with it?
I see it for sale by rocket fireworks so it must be a good product to be in stock for 5+ years?

How about that Firefly system they have? Im thinking about getting this system as well as I can’t justify buying a more expensive system for my annual Halloween shoot. Oh that one isn’t too bad either. $30 bucks for the launch control vs $85 for the firefly.
Pros of the firefly is that the clips are reusable
Pros of the launch control is that it’s cheaper haha
I’ll check out some more videos to see what other folks have to say while we wait to see if anyone else has anymore recent experience.

Technology has changed dramatically since Launch Control. I would pay the extra for the newer system. Oh that one isn’t too bad either. $30 bucks for the launch control vs $85 for the firefly. Hi Smile: The $30 Launch Control activates 4 igniters. It's still cheaper than the Firefly, but you have wires to worry about. Despite my concerns about Bluetooth having low range capabilities the comments on the Firefly range were quite good. If you're looking for a cost effective firing system for the small guy, I have been using the old Rocket RC-150 for a few years and it works well with readily available Talon igniters. Powerhouse was selling a similar remote last year for $150ish. The fire 12 triggers as purchased. they say they are expandable, but I haven't figured out how as the remotes have only 12 buttons with no easy to select channel/group switch. You can get basically the same remote systems straight from China(less than $40), but I will always recommend buying from a local dealer, other than direct import sales. I like to be able to support and easily contact my vendors. I did build my own version of a wired system using Cat6 ethernet wires, but I like using the wireless system. I use one 12 cue system for my finale, and the only failures have been due to learning how to properly use the igniter clips. I am, by the way, just a Canada Day amateur, so I don't need a fancy outfit like a Cobra. But if any one's looking for a nice Christmas gift...

Thanks for the recommendations Londonfan! I don’t have the luxury of purchasing from a local store so maybe I’ll look into shipping something from China! I’ll definitely have to do my research though. If I find anything worth sharing I’ll post it here!

Yes. A nail board was my first "remote" firing system. Crude and simple, but it works well. My first attempt was with 9 volt batteries. Second attempt with AA's. The current is higher for more stable repeated firing. Which batteries are advised for prolonged use?
I also have pretty much unlimited access to Cat6 ethernet wire and connectors, which makes the building of longer range stuff easy and cheap. It's also kind of fun. You do feel a bit of control, like hand lighting.

I have approximately 500 of these button switches and the terminals for them. I bought them in the electronics market in Shenzhen China in 2008 intending to build a wired system. Right after that the wireless systems came out and they have been collecting dust since then. They should be put to better use by someone that wants to build a wired system. I am selling them for $50.00 you pay the shipping. That is about half the price I paid for them in 2008. The offer is for all them only.

@londanfan did you find solid or stranded ethernet cable worked better with a nail board system. And any favorites for nichrome wire
Please and Thank-you in Advance

I have never used stranded ethernet wire because it doesn't terminate reliably in the connectors like solid wire does. I also use Cat6 because of it's larger gauge. I have never used nichrome wire. I have always used talons.
I going to start a thread today in showcase called Rigs, where we can show off our handywork.
