There were fireworks tonight in the middle of Toronto Harbour. Anyone know what the show was for and who shot it?

From what I have seen listed it was AirMagic International Inc doing a Pyrotechnic display. Was it a good show?

I only saw a glimpse of it. At this time of the year, any show is a good show.

Stuff like that makes fireworks look bad. Any show should be put on a website so that the public knows. This way they could go out and enjoy it too.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand I know exactly what you are saying, and the public gets all upset. It's just like the show the Kardashians did a few weeks/months back. On the other hand if someone wants to have a private show and gets all the permits they need then why should they not be allowed to do that? When people have a show at their weddings do they need to tell everyone about it?
I think this is one of these problems that comes up now because of the internet. This would not be a big deal before people could get on social media and spread the story and their outrage.

Display shows are large. Consumer shows are no big deal. I just think display shows that large should be put out there for people to enjoy. But I understand the conflict.

People also have Display shows for weddings and private events. One of the few shows I was lucky enough to work on was a small display show for a wedding. Was this a large show? I know it was a barge show so I would automatically think its a big show, but I guess to do any show in Toronto its probably going to have to be a barge show.
I though I looked at a site before that showed all the permits that have been issued at the waterfront in advance but not I can't find it. Would not really be useful to the public but at least us pyros could check it out. We could also publish the info somewhere.
PyroBoss do you know the list I am talking about? I am wondering if that's how you knew who did the show?

Nice that's what I was thinking of. Funny the explanation they used to be allowed "Community can come and enjoy the fireworks display" so I completely agree in that case they should have made this public in some way.

See that list needs to be found by the public. Perhaps we need to create a website for this?

I always though it would be awesome if we could list all the shows going on. Sometimes there is a show going on right in your backyard and you don't even know about it. I know I have found out about a few shows only a day or 2 before they were going on because I happened to hear something on the radio.

Ya. But we are also hardcore. Not everyone is gonna take the time to watch a show like us.

Thanks for the link, I didn't know this info was public. I'm guess its just because its the water front, there is not a general list for a random area is there?
I can see both points of views. Now call me selfish on this one, but if I shelled out the $money$ for a display show and it was for my wedding or my business celebration, something more personal, that show would be meant to be seen for a select group of people not the general public and therefor I would not want to see it published any where, but I really wouldn't care if people saw it driving by and stop to take it in or people in the area.
