I was thinking the same thing about the table tipping over, but I think you are right that it would take a lot to tip over one of these tables. Maybe to be extra safe you could put some bricks on top of it for extra weight. I did a similar thing last year with taping the cakes down but used boards and put them right on the ground. I also used sheathing tape as I find its even stronger than duct tape on the right surface.

I use the plywood as well but I also add small blocks of 2x4 screwed from the underside. I then duct tape the cake to the 2x4.

Great ideas, sure would make setting up quicker. I like your idea with the blocks BelwoodPyro.

I created some reusable boards. It's a little elaborate but it works quite well. I use plywood, a couple of 80/20 rails and few tile edges. I pinch the cakes in and in the voids I'll fill in with bombshells and duct tape them down. I chain fuse them together and you get some cool effects. Attachments:

Holy, kooks. Quite elaborate. Can you come and organize my closet like you do the fireworks? Great set up. Just differentiates the pros from the newbies. Are the cakes and barrages connected by a single fuse or are they linked with a firing system?

Ha Ha choices. Closets no but fireworks setups sure. It's the engineer in me. I designed them to be modular and quick for setup and teardown. As you know, at the end of the night the cleanup sucks. If I can make life easier... It just helps. Yes I do chain fuse each board to one source and hand fire. I keep the costs down by using fuse instead of talons/eMatches. A 250m roll of fuse costs about $25. Each talon can range from $0.35 - $1.00 depending on a bunch of factors.
