Anyone have a chance to take a good look at the FIREFLY FIRING SYSTEM? www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqFcei9TfIEwww.youtube.com/watch?v=FgU3QATDddInot a fan of the clips. there maybe a way to take them apart and use an e-match but for a backyard show seems ok . As for a pro show for a wedding some on the smaller side... maybe something like this would work, no ??

I saw these on line months ago, before they were on the Rocket website. I work in the consumer electronics business and find the one feature a bit sketchy, so I would love to hear from a trusted, actual user. For most applications, blue tooth is only reliable up to 30 feet. I realize that the fire signal would be fast and not sustained, but 5 times the usual limit seems like a bit of a reliability stretch to me.
Otherwise I think the concept is great!

Looks cool! But I personally wouldn't trust Bluetooth enough for a professional display level fireworks show. Unlike Cobra, Merlin, and Pyrosure which have encrypted wireless signals with fail safes.

Had a few friends give it a go and got to try it myself. Bluetooth reliability is definitely a concern but it does work past 30 feet. In our testing 150 was and extreme stretch reliability seemed to fade past 75 feet. The bigger concern for me was the "reusable" leads for lighting the fuse. These are not reliable and some failed after only one time we could not get them to light a second fuse. I love the price point and the idea for the hobbiest but would never rely on it for anything professional and i think replacement parts for the igniters will need to be made readily available and for cheap to make this worthwhile.

I like the idea of it, just wish it had more firing cues on the single unit.
anyone get to spend time with the scripting program?

Another option is Mongoose which I’m hearing a lot of good things about.

I just shot my first show with the FireFly Plus 2.0 with PowerPlate. It runs on WiFi now instead of bluetooth, you can wirelessly mesh multiple units together for extended range and more cues and if you get the PowerPlate upgrade it runs on 18650 Li-Ion batteries, lots of power.
I didn't use the Titan ignition heaters it came with but if you use Talons or e-matches you'll have flawless ignition, I had 100% ignition of my first show.

Have had a few issues with mine using the talon igniters with mine. I run 4 modules (3 normal and 1 mini one). The app is a bit squirrelly but it seems ok for safer backyard use. I just ended up using the titan clips clamped to the fuses worked better than the talons. Going to test out the ignite system now though. It’s certainly nice not lighting a bunch of stuff at the same time by hand like a lunatic lol.
