Here is some video of a show we did the other weekend. Nothing extravagant. And a Clown lanceboard, which you can barely see in the video.

Nice show, too bad the set pieces did not show up too well in the video. Did they look good in real life?

I was a little disappointed, they were spanish lances. the smoke protruding off them was very excessive.

That's too bad, the first set with the stars did look nice, but I guess the clown is a little too complex. You mention Spanish lances, do Spanish products make more smoke or are generally lower quality?
I remember an episode of Pyros where they had a really bad smoked out show and I think they mentioned the humidity and lack of wind will really get you, is the quality of product also a factor?

The lances were from the Spanish company Vincente caballer, and it was a first time using a lance from them. The colour from it was strong. It was white, like a blinding white. I have no comparison beyond Chinese or US lances.
Chinese lances of Lidi tend to be heavy in smoke, dancing is very clean. US lances from Rozzi, probably the best I've seen, low smoke And colour is amazing. Even their colour changing.
There can be many factors in regards to its quality. Could be dirty material, for white it's generally magnesium or aluminum. If it's not been treated correctly, could burn impurities. Humidity is another factor, this night it wasn't that bad. But adding humidity will saturate the air and make it harder for the stars to burn properly. Wind, if you watch the wind is strong left.
We faced the lance board into the wind on an angle for the wind to push the smoke through.
