I was wondering if anyone can give some info on the differences between the Display Fireworks certification and the Pyrotechnic certification. I was thinking that Pyrotechnic is more for indoor and close proxmitiy but I read this on the main page on Natural Resources website and now I am wondering if I will need both certifications:
Display Fireworks are high-hazard firework articles designed for use by professionals. These articles include items such as aerial shells, cakes, roman candles, waterfalls, lances and wheels.
Pyrotechnic Special Effects are high-hazard pyrotechnics articles designed for use by professionals. These articles include items such as gerbs, mines, comets and crossettes. This class also includes special purpose pyrotechnics manufactured live stage and the film and television industry.
I see mines, comets and crossettes are listed under Pyrotechnic Special Effects, so I guess I need this as well as Display Fireworks license to use these items, or are they referring to some other types of effects?

From my understanding of it, is the Display manual for the Display side fireworks, does not apply to 7.2.5 Fireworks.

Its going to depend what type (classification) of effects you are buying. At least that's my understanding. You can buy indoor/proximate rated articles and they fall under the Pyrotechnician License, but the proper, full outdoor only items will be the Display Supervisor license.
Either way, I'm not sure if you can buy comets/mines/etc with just the first level pyrotechnician license. I know you're limited to 8x8 Gerbs and the really boring stuff, unless you're working under someone with a Senor license.
