New 7 shot BEM cakes, 911, Royal Burst, Blinking Waterfall, Spring Garden, Tornado and 36 shot Split Comets cake: What I liked most: The deep sound of the breaks in Tornado, you can feel them in your chest, loud and deep, super awesome. The red colour in the Split Comet cake is so bright it hurts your eyes! Nuts. And the crackling mines in that cake go very high and are SUPER loud for 1.4g!!! Awesome to have another crossette cake too. Love the horse tails in Blinking Waterfall. So much glitter in Royal Burst, on the launch, on the way up, in the break, lol. Glitter glitter glitter  Love the construction of the cakes too, the bottom halves are filled with solid concrete making them very bottom heavy so they're extra stable. -Jamie M. |

That's now the second video of Split Comets to be posted and I'm really sitting on the fence.
The colours are great, but I much prefer the crossettes in Hay Wire. I also like the mixed colour firing of Haywire as opposed to the single colour.
I think it would look really cool it the colours were alternated within the fan.
As much as I was excited to see a Split Comets, I'm thinking I would rather spend a bit more and angle 2 Hay Wires.(lots more $$ and fire 3 )This was the first video of 911 and Spring Garden that I remember seeing. I think that they will both be on next years list.Your comments in this post add some interesting perspective info that didn't really come through on the computer screen. Your description of Split Comets is making me re-think. Next years budget is going to be stupid! |

Your description of Split Comets is making me re-think. Next years budget is going to be stupid! I'm going to try and be FIRST to have videos up of new fireworks that come out. I have some deals in place with some suppliers so that I automatically receive shipments of any new fireworks that arrive so that should help me get videos up quick. When I watched the video back after uploading it to youtube I thought to myself "what looked/sounded/felt better in person vs. the video" so I remembered back and wrote the notes. Next time I'll speak into my cell phone (normally not used during the shooting) to record my voice and I'll talk instantly about what I like about them. Even if I don't use that actual audio in the video at least it'll be easier and more accurate as "notes" then me trying to remember back. I am actually planing on doing a mix of split comets and a couple of haywire at the same time That should be a killer combo, can't wait to see it!
