For those of you who glue down your cakes to boards which glue are you using? The last couple of years I have been using gorilla glue because it was quick to set however this year I have a lot more cakes to glue down and some extra time to do it so just wondering what others are using that might work better and/or be cheaper

DISCLAIMER: I have never done this so I don't know if this is a bad idea or not.
Would some form of hot/cold glue work? It would be fast and cheap, although you would have to be careful that the glue is not too hot or it could possibly set off the fireworks. This is just my two cents.

While I do use screws for some of the 7 shot cakes which have a base I can screw into such as the seismic thunder and other similar ones, how do you use them for other more normal cakes?

I have used silicone for years, but I did have a few bottom paper skins come loose. The last few years of silicone I removed the bottom paper so that I was attaching the tube. (advice given on the forum) This year I used Gorilla tape. (advice on the forum) It held on really well and was easy to clean up. It does take more time to do, and is more of a pain to do than silicone, but the boards are more re-usable.

Every cake has about 3/4” of clay in the bottom of each tube,
Screw diagonally into the corner tubes with a drywall screw
Pinning down all 4 sides

Remove bottom paper, "PL400 Subfloor & Deck Adhesive", draw an X pattern on the bottom of the cake, squish down. Holds strong in 15 minutes, remains flexible like caulking.
Use cheap pegboards as replaceable tops for your boards.

I use L shaped shelf brackets screwed down to the board then zip tie or tape around them.

I use L shaped shelf brackets screwed down to the board then zip tie or tape around them. I do the same and re-use all my boards.
