There used to be a small independent donut shop in Byron(south west London) that for a short time made an apple fritter that was indented in the centre. The centre was filled with raspberry jam filling, and then the whole top of the donut was capped with chocolate. It was huge, delicious, and all the sugar you needed for the week!
Favourite Apple fritter comes from a bakery that still uses a wood burning oven . Huge pieces of apple in it - totally delicious.
Other was a chocolate fudge filled donut (Think chocolate pudding in the center ) with a chocolate coating as well . Wife and daughter always wanted me to share - nope not going to happen with that one . Apparently I have issues with sharing .
I like the idea of both! and if you ever get to Hamilton Ontario you need to stop in at granddads donuts. The have the Cherry Loop, Walnut Crunch, Dutchie and other classics! it's worth the drive to Hamilton
