I'm looking at phatboy at the noisemakers section and see a lot of items but they all pretty much look the same. Does anyone know if there is any difference in these items? I am wondering if I should just get the cheapest which looks to be 24 air bombs for 14.49, or are any of these other items better like ThunderFlash 1000 / Sonic Banger / Bang Bomb / etc. The butterfly thunder looks a little different but other than that they all look the same (some of them even just have the air bomb video so maybe they are different and the wrong video is up?) here is the section I am looking at: phatboyfireworks.ca/shop/?cat=35

Realistically, no. Some will have a whistle, cracking tail, a red flash.

I have shot off every kind of air bomb in Canada. Two years ago at a winter shoot we had some sound testing equipment with us to see which air bomb was louder . Vulcan and BEM air bombs tied for the two loudest air bombs , Hands was next and then Mystical .

Thanks for the info guys. I bought a bunch of mystical Air bombs but I never ended up setting any off since I did my fireworks a few days after Canada day and did not want to disturb anyone on a weekday. I look forward to trying some of these out next year. I am interested to see what happens if you light a bunch off at the same time.

One of our guys reminded me that our Air Bombs would not be legal in the USA . Our regs say we can have up to 800 mg of flash powder , the American regs say the max allowed is 130 mg . Ours are 5x theirs .

I think you misunderstood that section.
From NFPA 1124 - 2006, not the most recent. But they hardly change (Only one I could find pubicly online without buying the most recent)
Banger Salute; flash banger; lady cracker Non-metallic tube containing report composition intended to produce an aural effect < 1 g flash composition per item and < 10 g per inner packaging or < 10 g black powder per item
For the 130g limit you're talking of? Not sure if they would apply to a specific item such as a fire cracker? rocket? But I believe they do follow the same idea of if its in a cake, it can not exceed more than 5% of the total compositions.

I was not actually going by that section - I was going by what I had previously read on Pyrouniverse - Here is what they said :
What is the "loudest" (or most "powerful") firework I can get and where can I buy it?
In the United States, all 1.4G consumer fireworks must adhere to strict powder limitations. Ground devices such as firecrackers can only contain 50 mg of flash powder (the chemical that causes the "boom") per cracker, and aerial devices can only contain 130 mg. This means that all "loud" fireworks make about the same amount of noise, slight differences in which are only due to the device's construction. Any firework that is manufactured (whether intentionally or by accident) with a greater amount of flash powder is considered to be a 1.3G (display) device.
Bradley, Colin. Pyro Universe: FAQ
By that info our air bombs are stronger .
