Anyone seen this guy Kevin "Jackal" Johnson running for mayor of Mississauga? He wants to allow fireworks more often in Mississauga. I'm not sure how I feel about this guy, I like the fireworks idea and some of his other ideas, but he seems a little crazy.

The bylaw is pretty standard I think? I guess they are a little restrictive as you can't have fireworks on New Years, only Victoria Day and Canada Day. Diwali is allowed in some places like Brampton, but now you need a permit in Brampton even for consumer product.
These laws are not really enforced around Canada Day and Victoria Day, many people light in the park. I was watching some fireworks in the park and the Cops came because some some stupid kids were shooting roman candles at some other kids. They asked us what was going on and if we saw the kid they had in the back of the car doing anything. They did not seem concerned with the others lighting off fireworks safely.
