Hi.
I have aves been doing a bit of fireworks from time to time but nothing to quit the day job over. The really nice thing with displays is getting the best seat in the house. Fireworks are a lot of fun, are an important part of our culture and every show reminds me of the joy they bring. I enjoy innovation and anything to make the setting up go faster, while maintaining safety. Fireworks are not my only hobby as I also do high power rocketry (but never the two shall mix). I also teach the Display Fireworks Safety and Legal Awareness Course.

Welcome Andrew, Where do you live? Borden ON. Its a base (CFB Borden) near Angus ON. But oddly enough Angus ON usually does not come up correctly on google maps so that does not really help. Angus is part of Essa Township and it's their municipal offices that the google map directions seem to go from. Could be part of an elaborate conspiracy to hide the base but its not very effective. Try 'borden heliport' and select satellite imagery if you are really interested in breaking the code. Other than that its a nice place. Rural to the point that I had deer in my back yard yesterday. Thanks for the welcomes Andrew

Ah very cool, I noticed after I posted you put it in the title I guess I am just blind, but good to get some background on the area as I did not know much about it. Are you in the Air Force? The museum there looks like a nice place to visit.

Nope, army. And since unification we are all Canadian Forces. The museum is quite nice especially for Air Force stuff. There is also a nice tank park. I am partial to the one in Ottawa as I spent some time there as a volunteer.

Next time you have a show in the area post it up here somewhere, maybe I can come out to watch the show and check out the Museum.

Hi Andrew, welcome. How did you become a instructor with/for the ERD? I noticed quite a few people doing the courses for them.

Thanks Salutes.
For the courses, you can apply through ERD to teach. It would be based on on experience but I don't know all their decision aspects.
