Is it possible to buy extra fuse to hook up to multiple fireworks? Or I guess the only other way is to hand light or a firing system Thanks Derek

Hi Derek,
Fuse is not available to purchase at retail. You would need to be a federally licensed certified display operator to purchase fuse. Take care

If you need to, buy some Wiggly Worms and pull the head off. Instant fuse. The burn rate is about six to seven seconds if I recall. Just tape it on or use the plastic ties to connect the fused together. Kaboom.

This is actually something I'm not super clear on. Is Visco considered a controlled product as well? I have never had problems getting it, so I've never actually looked into whether or not the public can buy it. seems silly that you can buy the products, but not the safety fuse...

I'd be curious to see if this is actual law, and where this is listed anywhere.

During the Display Assistant course, it was told to us that fuse should not be sold to the public.

I emailed Rachel at the ERD and got this response back.
She then goes on to share vendors who can supply it to licensed individuals...
So there you have it - It is NOT LEGAL for unlicensed individuals to purchase or own.

When I asked Rachel at the display assistant course why it wasn't accessible to the public it was a pretty obvious answer. They don't want people making bombs with it. Makes sense.

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm reading between the lines. its much safer to own/store than a lot of other items that are legal.
But, then it makes it too easy for people to feel safe about lighting off home made devices... I know when I was younger I used to pull the fuses out of various things to use for other purposes.

Its definitely a mistake on their part. perhaps you got someone who didn't realize they aren't allowed to sell to non-licensed people.
There are always goof ups or people who bend/break the rules. I've definitely purchased QuickMatch and eMatches without providing any sort of identification, along with flash powders and such (Not from ThomasFX mind you). Doesn't mean its legal, and I technically am licensed so I wasn't doing anything illegal.
