I have taken to firing a cake after every game my girlfriends softball team wins. There hasn't been an issue until last night, when the police were called because people thought they heard gunshots.
Having a "quiet" firework kind of goes against the grain, but what are your thoughts? Avoiding fountains, because I still want something to shoot into the sky (in celebration!) but trying to avoid the fuzz.
Thinking a barrage of some sort? I'm stumped.

You may want to look into this a bit more, I think you should have a permit in this situation. With that said, look at competition fireworks as they have a sound rating on them so if you get something that's 1 or 2 maybe its not so loud. You could look at something like do or die or some other comet cake that does not have any breaks.

It's probably a permit situation, but it's only once a week and only one firework. I'm very careful and always bury the cake. No more big breaks though...
A comet cake is a great idea, thanks.

Do or die would work well

I would recommend any non-component Barrages, Do or Die (Thanks Markhampyro) and products with Flying Fish in them. (Evil Enemy as an example)
