I have been looking for some time to get endorsements for nautical, bardge/trailer and bigger shells. I have tried talking to suppliers in my area ( hands and mystical ) but they are never willing to help or don't know where or who to talk to. If there is any one out there in the Ottawa area that can help would be great. Would be willing to travel if you have a show up 3 hours away from Ottawa.

Have you been a supervisor on your own shows? Have you ever set up shows on a barge and fired nautical shells? Just trying to get feel for what you done already.

Thanks for the reply I have done 5 shows all hand fired from land up to 6 inch shells. I have not been a site supervisor yet. I just talked to Robin @nrcan about doing an endorsement course. I was unaware I needed to be supervisor on 3 shows before getting my endorsements. I will have the opportunity to complete all three shows this summer.

Have you done set ups/fired nautical shells?, Barge shows before?. You will need that experience as well before applying or having a course specific to that. Nothing like having the first hand experience though compared to a class.

From my understanding of what the display manual says, you need to be a supervisor before you can take the endorsement course. Not, straight from assistant to supervisor with endorsements. If you were currently a supervisor, you would need to do 3 shows with the products for those endorsements. Example being, after being a supervisor for a standard show, having worked on 3 shows that were on a barge.

Ok, did some digging
For those of you who are endorsement deficient
Fireworks fx puts on a course for nauticle, large shell and girandola
You just have to be willing to fly to Nova Scotia for the course
Contact Fred Wade, he'll hook you up

Best thing is to try and find a company that is willing to help with stepping up. Maybe Aussie can help you! Aussie, do you have your endorsements?

Yes I do, most of my shooters do too but I'm doing the course in Nova Scotia for girandola
Don't see myself in international competition any time soon, that's usually where you get that endorsement
