Hi,
I'm putting on a pyro musical and i'm wondering if anyone has a best practice for bypassing the visco at the top of a multi cylinder barrage (e.g. diablo) with an e-match? My first thought is to poke a hole in the first lift charge near the top of the firework and put the e-match there, then quickfuse to the others. Thoughts?

Cut off all the paper on the top of the barrage. Place about 8-10 inches of extra quick match (removing the outside cover so you only have black match) on top of the tubes. Place the ematch on top of the newly exposed black match. Cover with clear tape. Works great ALL the time.

Becare carefull of friction, ematch on black match
Try to grab an ematch port from a 1.3 shell linked to quickmatch and lay it on top, easy to ship
Just port in the ematch later on site
Illegal to transport with ematches installed

No, lay quickmatch over inner fuses as mentioned Add an ematch port and 4" of quickmatch to the blackmatch down the side of the barrage tape all down
Cover with foil, seal foil around the barrage to avoid crossfire
Add ematch on site

Just an FYI, as I understand the regs, once you introduce quickmatch and/or ematches - this becomes a Display Fireworks show, and must be permitted & licensed as such.

The way I'm understanding this would require digging this stuff out to put the quick Match alongside it. Thanks for the help so far though!

Black match is black match
Visco is visco
2 very different products
All barrages ignite from the top, remove the paper from the top exposing all the visco fuses, lay black match on top to ensure ignition, then add the e port and quickmatch length on top of that so the e port runs out and down the outside of the barrage, when the ematch fires flame runs through the quickmatch igniting the blackmatch, then igniting the visco fuses of the barrage tubes
I don't know how else to explain it,
Final e ported barrage now falls under display regs,
Add ematch to e port on site
If unsure about these instructions .....HANDLIGHT
Curious to know how many shows you've done? I ASSume your licensed with a manufacturing permit/license to augment these fireworks?
Am I Correct?

I now understand what you are saying with the black match, but this still adds an extra few seconds of delay between e-match ignition and lift powder ignition. I don't think that will work in my case.

If your electrically firing you should just ignite the barrage a double of second before the effect is required
Pre lift time

What barrage are you trying to use? Trying to use the Diablo, it's a 7 tubed barrage.

Just thinking out loud. But Diablo doesn't strike me as a barrage that needs to have timing to be dead on relative to timing to music.
