So from the doing some reading, on Pyrofan. Thread from PyroFan
We in Canada we seem to get these (figure 1) which, from my experience work but bla...... its a flash in a pan so to speak... min effect and I have chain them in a group of 3 like the pic in figure 2 with a home made setup back by a mirror. I found that they burn with such intensity all of them go off, you need 12" or more between then or a fair size barrier to time off each one.
The U.S. seem to use Figure 2 and from the show posted in the thread they seem to work better. Do we have anything available in Canada to use Consumer wise?

In Canada there are only 2 styles of strobes the ones that BEM , Mystical and Hands manufacture or the type that Vulcan manufactures . Hands Style - Vulcan Style The Vulcan ones only come in Silver / white and do last a bit longer . Last I checked fireworks Depot still carried them .

Hey huggy - I tried to garner some interest in strobes last year. Our consumer grade options are quite pathetic. I got my hands on a couple Big's XL Strobes a few years ago like these www.impactfireworks.net/product/big-pro-strobe-xl-pack-of-5/) and they were awesome. ( YouTube Demo from an old show I did) I believe there are several manufacturers but they don't seem to be available in Canada anymore... I talked to Bill at Mystical in BC and begged for some more potent strobes (their basic mystical branded ones seem like they've gotten really short and dull in the past few years) but so far no luck. If You do find something, I'd love to know about it!

I will keep you in mind, for sure. Are they not on the "MNR list of acceptable fireworks".... 'legal list'? I am guess the market is not there for strobes if they are this hard to come by any good ones.

I use the Vulcan ones for my consumer show. I stack three of them on top of one another and tape them together. It'll give you thirty seconds of strobing glory.

A substance not allowed in Canadian products.
