Hello all
Display supervisor from Alberta here. Been certified since 2002. I have seen a lot of changes in the Industry/hobby since then, some good, some bad.
I used to do the 4-5 shows a year in the town I lived in, until one fateful evening, when due to lack of volunteers, I had to pull the biggest no-no in the industry. I had to set up, hand fire, and tear down a $5000 show all by myself !!!!!! NOT FUN! Needless to say, that was the end of our volunteer group, and the community has since gone to contracting a professional company, which was sad, because when it was us, all money went into product - What we did for $5000 now cost them $9500+
I have still remained active, shooting 1.4g shows for my family, and still maintain my license. I wouldn't mind the chance to assist on some 1.3g shows, but am not interested in making it a job. I like to keep it as a hobby. I am very willing to share experience and knowledge I have gained over the many years, and also very willing to learn more.
Am also kinda hoping this forum doesn't go the way of the last canadian forum
