Her's a few shots from what is still to this day, my most memorable show ever.It was shot back in June of 2006. it consisted of aprox;
120 - 2"
250 - 3"
100 - 4"
48 - 5"
48 - 6"
16 1.3g cakes
27 roman candles 1.5" - 3"
9 1.4g angelwing barrages
6 1.4g 70shot multicolor barrages
3 1.4g snowgun barrages
Story: it was my second show as Supervisor in charge, but the first BIG one.I started in march scripting and picking the product, ordering it all , etc.
We always got to use the pier over the lake as our shoot site , and this show was to be no different so thats how I scripted and did the site plan. 2 days before the show, we were informed that there was also another event going on at the pier until 8:00 pm, and we couldn't set up until after that. Panic ensued, but the day before, we were given a new location to shoot from. Problem was, we went from having a football size open field , with which the ramps were planned around, to having a small 20 foot wide horseshoe shaped strip of land about 300 feet long, with the lake on one side and a concrete wall on the other. The owner of the waterslide graciously allowed us to use the piece of land behind the slides. This pretty much threw my whole setup plan out the window, but I had a great and willing crew, and we did what we could on the fly with what we had. Keep in mind, this show was hand fired, and we liked to have lots of space between racks for safety. This wasn't an option here. Our only safe escape was to jump in the lake if something went wrong!
The show went off, not as planned, but without any incident. Let me tell you, there is nothing like being 10 feet away from 6,5,and 4" shells all launching at once, when there is a concrete wall behind you!!! I was just happy we were able to pull it off, until that following week, in which several of the area newspapers all posted pictures and article about it. My wife took several of them and had them framed for me. Sorry for the long story , and not many pic's.
