I see Cobra go on 'sale' through different vendors all the time, and I see used Cobra equipment available quite often. What's the deal? Not often, it all at, will you see FireOne or PD, or the likes on 'sale' and it's a very rare time to find the equipment listed somewhere for sale - used equipment is usually sold quite quickly and sells more word of mouth than anything for FireOne for example.
I'm just not sold on it, and continue to wonder about things related to it. Is price the main attraction?

If your a big company your into Fireonr or Pyrodigital
They cost a ton, but are truely powerful
Cobra is a happy medium, the price is affordable and at the same time expandable in cue generation
Fireone is basically limitless in cues, cobra is 1800 cues....for now
Cobra is at a level that managed to capture the small to medium market, capitalizing on a market share that is 80% of the show operators out there in the USA and Canada
You can easily shoot a 100k show with cobra. Rare to find that level here in Canada except for 2 shows (that I can think of) and competition level events
I run 87 shows (not including selling fireworks that some boast and add into their show count) a year and only use Cobra
We have 54 x 18M, 49 x 36m and a few 72m and have had ZERO tech failures. They might look a bit plastic (cause they are) but they can take a beating, plus their customer service is outstanding
2cents

Usually the companies that have invested in those systems are going to keep them for a long while until retirement lol
I have and currently using Fireone, PyroSure, PyroMate, Cobra etc, I also work on them the odd time for servicing LED's/switches/battery changing etc. But for me, it's the simplicity of Cobra, its solid enough for abuse, and it just works when turning that key to arm!. Also, the command center is great and displays all info needed on the screen. Just like Aussie above, I use 18m's, 36m's and 72's.
I think you see a lot on sale because of the price that is affordable. People sometimes buy the Cobra system so they can do one show then sell afterwards.
Believe me, Cobra will continue on the professional level and will see way more coming out in the market in the future.
