I did not want to venture too far away due to the possible bad weather so decided to go to the display at the Streetsville Canada day celebration. I was presently surprised how good the show was and there were lots of nice mines and other low level effects. Check it out and let me know what you think. I was a little too close to the action to get a good video but it was a great seat to watch the show.

Nice stash, how did the show go? I knew I should have shot my show on Saturday as well, but going to see a GFA show was too tempting. Now looks like I may be waiting till next weekend.

I'm looking at phatboy at the noisemakers section and see a lot of items but they all pretty much look the same. Does anyone know if there is any difference in these items? I am wondering if I should just get the cheapest which looks to be 24 air bombs for 14.49, or are any of these other items better like ThunderFlash 1000 / Sonic Banger / Bang Bomb / etc. The butterfly thunder looks a little different but other than that they all look the same (some of them even just have the air bomb video so maybe they are different and the wrong video is up?) here is the section I am looking at: phatboyfireworks.ca/shop/?cat=35

Anyone have any recommendations on where to see a good show, preferably a pyromusical, this Weekend or on Canada day? Who has the best show? I know of a few shows, and there are probably more I don't know of. This OLG event sounds really nice

Canada day Wonderland - Canada Day Tuesday, July 1 - 10:00PM Spencer Smith Park in Burlington - Canada Day Tuesday, July 1 10:00PM Mississauga City Hall Canada Day Tuesday, July 1 10:20PM
Toronto Tuesday, July 1, 2014 Mel Lastman Square / 5100 Yonge Street 10:15 pm - Fireworks show by Circus Orange. I was interested in this cake as well. Why is it so big when its only 25 shots? It looks like its 2x as big as Hardcore which is also 25 shots.

How were the little single tube items Spitfire / Tribute / Dynamic Blast? I was thinking of buying a few of these but was not sure if they would be any good due to the size.

This really sucks for the people of Brampton. You apparently need a license now to set off fireworks. It's free but you need to have adequate space and follow some set out rules. They mention in the video that that space requirements will be a problem for most people and will exclude a lot of people from being able to use fireworks. globalnews.ca/news/1399982/how-brampton-residents-can-get-firework-permits-under-new-by-law/What does everyone think about this?

Sweet. If you can take a video of each item so we can compare them to the videos that were released.

Damn looks like a nice show is going to be happening. I notice the icon for the software named KFBPyro? is this all custom software you wrote for your custom hardware? If so I would love to hear more about that.
Edit- When is this show? Anyway I could maybe come out and watch it? (or if you need any help, but I am a pretty big newbie) Richmond Hill is only about a 45 min drive for me.

Does anyone know how much these guys will beat others prices by? I sent an email about price match and they said come in and they will beat any price, but they won't tell me the price they will give me instead. Are we talking about a good savings or are they going to beat the price by 1 cent? Trying to figure out if its worth it to drive down to their main office.

Fair enough you deserve a good discount then. This place will give the 25% discount to anyone, even if you are buying 1 roman candle. You should talk to them if you spend a lot, they may be able to give you a better discount. If you could get Dworkins to sell to you then you can get a real nice discount, but I called them and they said they only sell to stores. dworkins.com/catalog/category/view/s/fireworks/id/97/

For sure you have to go with whoever is giving you the best price. I have never tried to get any discount at rocket or even gone there, is there a way I can get one? I don't really spend a ton so not sure if I could get much.

I went by their shop today and they have a nice setup. They have most of the items out on display that you can pick up and look at, then you fill out an order sheet for what you want.
The lady running the shop was friendly and helpful but did not try to push anything. They had all the staffs licenses up on on the wall, looks like all staff has some level of certification. They run a display company, there were a few racks in the doorway that looked like 3" and 6".
I would recommend checking this place out if you are in the area and with the 25% off deal they have some good prices. They also have some Competition Fireworks items that are not on their website.

I like the premade show idea, it would be cool if you could make a few different ones based on your budget, or if the show could be adjusted by removing/adding other items based on budget. It would be really cool if you could somehow make a deal with a larger company like Mystical / Phatboy (They are the same company I am pretty sure) so that we could get some discount (and maybe you could get some commission on the sale)
If you need anyone to help with testing let me know. I don't have any experience using firing systems, but will soon as I just bought the rfRemotech MB32Q, which is capable of making a pyromusical, but from what I have seen so far the software looks pretty limited.

The transceiver idea sounds cool. I hope it will also have the ability to hook up to a laptop via USB so you could avoid the wifi network if possible. You could probably do the same with Android but I doubt you could direct connect to an Apple device.
In the software it would be nice if you could program the queues in steps and each time you press a button it fires the queues in order. For example: 1) Fire queue 1 2) Fire queue 2&3 at the same time 3) Fire queue 4-7 1 second apart Each time you press a single button it would step through.
I would like to see all parts with a USB port to allow updating of firmware without having to send in or buy an additional device.
At least some type of software for free that does not have a yearly cost. You could charge yearly for extra features or charge for updated software with new functionality but I would like to see at least something basic for free that comes with the system.
Will you have the ability to make products or will there be premade products to use? Are we just going to be able to assign a time to fire a queue, or will there be an inventory system to fully setup the show?

How do you plan on connecting the tablet/iphone/pc to the receiver? One thing I was thinking would be cool is if you had some type of USB to 2.4Ghz antenna so that you could plug that into a laptop and connect directly. Or you could have the ability to hook up the existing transmitter to a PC so you don't need a separate device. I think this would be great because the software could show you a lot more info if you have more screen space. I could picture having all your modules up on the screen and get a full overview on something like a continuity test.
Something to put in the software that I would like to see, how about the ability to lay out where your modules will go and where you will place any items to light. The system could ensure that you will not have any wire runs that are too long or too many igniters that it would cause a problem.

Anyone have any experience with this shop? They are having a 25% off sale and makes the prices cheaper than Phatboy on most if not all items. They seem to not cary as much Mystical though and more Vulcan. The shop is pretty close to my work so I am going to try to go check it out sometime this week or next if I get a chance. Will report back when I do. I sent them an email and they were pretty responsive, heard back in a couple hours. fireworkscanada.net/home.php

Hello everyone, glad to join the forum and I am very glad to see that there are quite a few people from Ontario here.
I just started getting into fireworks last year after a long break, we used to have a long tradition of everyone getting together on the street for fireworks but that died off when I was much younger. I am thinking of trying to restart this tradition.
Thinking of getting my display license, I wanted to go this year but did not realize it was at the beginning of the season and already missed it. Hope next year its in Mississauga again.
