What firing system are you talking about? I think the ones with the toggle switches would be the type of switch that when you press it it will go back to off position when you remove your hand. My Chinese system just has an electronic remote but I have seen others that have toggle switches or phsycal push buttons on the main control board.

Xplode if you are looking for a cheap system rfremotech has a big sale on their new system. It looks kind of strange though. www.rfremotech.com/Activities/Promotion151030.htmlI have one of their other systems which I got off ebay for like $300 US (when the exchange was better) and its 32 queues so around the same price per queue. Its programmable (can even sync to music) but the software is not the greatest. You can also step fire through the queues which is the feature I normally use. What I did last year was a step programmed most of the queues then the last few queues I setup with the programmable function so I could have it auto fire a few queues at once and then some delays before other queues went off. This is the one I have (you can bid on it and most likley no one else will bid so you will get it for 299.99) www.ebay.com/itm/Intellectualized-Fireworks-Wireless-Firing-System-MB32Q-Programable-FSK-Group-/252208509403?hash=item3ab8cc71db

It figure out what is a rewrap one would have to compare the description of each item, right? Ya pretty much, compare the shot numbers as well and if there are vidoes of both you could look at that. An example is one of the Phatboy cakes looks to be a re-wrap of Splat!

I think Lonewolf has a few products that are re-wraps of other products, not sure if they have any unique items. If everything is a re-wrap I would not consider it a Manufacturer but if they have anything Unique then I would. Same with Phatboy, they have a few Phatboy brand cakes now but I think they are also re-wraps.
Personally I would stick to the majors that you have listed:
-Mystical -Vulcan -Competition -Power House -BEM
Then if you can add the lonewolf stuff under the actual manufacturer with some type of note that may be helpful. It would not be too bad to have a separate "Manufacturer" section for Lonewolf/ Phatboy but they would just have a few items. You could then put a note on the item that says what it is a re-wrap of.

Sorry I did not respond back. I have been a little busy but will get this setup and then make a new thread to show it and see if anyone has any suggestions or wants to help work on it.

These files may be useful as well. I started making a database and php app to track this but like many things but started working on something else. I don't have excel on this computer but you should be able to use the CSV to import the data into excel. All the files are the same its just in a different format Attachments:cake_import.pdf (222.34 KB)
cake_import.csv (36.26 KB)
cake_import.doc (119.52 KB)

Does not seem like that great of a deal to me. 6 x cakes for $250 = 41.66 per cake. I guess 250 is retail so maybe phatboy and other shops will sell it cheaper.

I think its a good idea to make a card and pass it around, it wont hurt. Also go look over here: canadianpyro.ca/board/18/professional-firework-companiesIts a little late now but you can see last year there were posts from Pyro Boss and kooks among others looking for people to help. Like Xplode said your best bet to get work is around Canada day next year.

Looks like its confirmed that fireworks caused the fire: www.bramptonguardian.com/news-story/6117701-breaking-news-binder-twine-blaze-caused-by-improper-disposal-of-spent-fireworks-fire-investigators/Brampton fire investigators have ruled Wednesday night's massive fire that destroyed two homes and damaged two others on Binder Twine Trail was caused by "improper disposal of fireworks". City officials announced the outcome of the investigation late Friday. The fire investigation has determined the blaze was accidental and started in the garage of the house. Fire officials said any spent fireworks that were not put in a pail of water after use would be considered "disposed of improperly". Hot or incompletely spent fireworks can spark a fire if placed near anything that can burn, according to fire investigators...

I always though it would be awesome if we could list all the shows going on. Sometimes there is a show going on right in your backyard and you don't even know about it. I know I have found out about a few shows only a day or 2 before they were going on because I happened to hear something on the radio.

Nice that's what I was thinking of. Funny the explanation they used to be allowed "Community can come and enjoy the fireworks display" so I completely agree in that case they should have made this public in some way.

People also have Display shows for weddings and private events. One of the few shows I was lucky enough to work on was a small display show for a wedding. Was this a large show? I know it was a barge show so I would automatically think its a big show, but I guess to do any show in Toronto its probably going to have to be a barge show.
I though I looked at a site before that showed all the permits that have been issued at the waterfront in advance but not I can't find it. Would not really be useful to the public but at least us pyros could check it out. We could also publish the info somewhere.
PyroBoss do you know the list I am talking about? I am wondering if that's how you knew who did the show?

People just do stupid stuff all the time but I don't think we should have more laws to try to protect them. I think a safety course would be good but should not be required. Maybe they could have a course you need to do to buy bigger items like cakes and let people that don't want to do the course only buy roman candles and fountains. although it seems to be roman candles that people hurt themselves with by holding them. Look at what people do with RC quadcopters (Drones) now, flying them by airports and over crowded events. Here is a story I just saw today about someone crashing their quadcopter into a ferris wheel www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/rogue-drone-slams-ferris-wheel-near-downtown-seattles-waterfront-n461936

Brampton requires a permit for consumer fireworks so I wonder if the people lighting them off had one? I doubt it. Hopefully they find the fire was caused by something else but it sounds like it was fireworks.

I'm all for safety and like the idea, but I think it would hurt the industry. My though is people would not want to do a safety course so they will either not do it and will not buy fireworks, or a underground market will grow then people will end up getting 1.3 and kill themselves.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand I know exactly what you are saying, and the public gets all upset. It's just like the show the Kardashians did a few weeks/months back. On the other hand if someone wants to have a private show and gets all the permits they need then why should they not be allowed to do that? When people have a show at their weddings do they need to tell everyone about it?
I think this is one of these problems that comes up now because of the internet. This would not be a big deal before people could get on social media and spread the story and their outrage.
